Allied Health Assistant
At Beyond Perception, our Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) help extend our services by providing hands‑on support that is guided and supervised by our speech pathologists. They play an important role in implementing personalised therapy plans, particularly during rural outreach or when funding is limited.
Consistent Support
Our AHAs provide regular sessions that help maintain continuity in therapy, giving children steady, familiar support across their communication journey.
Community Empowerment
We employ and work alongside local AHAs, strengthening community connections and supporting local economies while ensuring families have accessible, consistent therapy support.
Tailored Care
Our AHAs work under professional supervision to deliver personalised, child‑centred support that aligns with each intervention plan, helping families access consistent care, especially in regional and remote areas.
OUR PROCESS
Here’s an overview of what our therapy pathway usually looks like if you are working with an Allied Health Assistant.

Initial Intake, Assessment and Plan
Begin with a comprehensive assessment completed by our Speech Pathologists to develop a personalised therapy plan for your child. During this process, we determine whether an Allied Health Assistant is an appropriate part of your child’s therapy support. You can read more about this stage on our 'Our Approach' page.
Supervised Implementation
Allied Health Assistants work under the direct supervision of our Speech Pathologists to implement therapy strategies that are tailored to your child’s communication and social‑skill needs. They meet regularly with their supervising clinician to problem‑solve challenges, plan upcoming sessions, and review next steps in the therapy plan.
Regular Support Sessions
Allied Health Assistants provide consistent, hands‑on therapy sessions that help maintain continuity and support your child’s goals in their personalised intervention plan.
Ongoing Review
The Speech Pathologist will monitor your child’s progress and make adjustments to the therapy plan as needed, ensuring it continues to align with your child’s goals and everyday needs. These reviews may occur in person or via telehealth, depending on location, available funding, and what best suits your child and family.
