Speech Sounds
Speech sound support focuses on helping people learn how to produce sounds accurately and use them in words and sentences. This may include articulation, phonological patterns, and clarity of speech. We use play‑based and/or interest‑led activities to explore sounds in meaningful contexts across home, school, and community settings.
What are speech sounds?
Speech sounds are the individual sounds people use to form words. Some people may substitute sounds, leave sounds out, or find certain sound combinations tricky as they develop their communication skills.
When might a child benefit from support?
Families often seek support when their child is difficult to understand, uses unusual sound patterns, or becomes frustrated when trying to communicate.
What does a session look like?
Sessions are play‑based and/or interest‑led. We explore sounds through different activities that help practice speech sounds in engaging ways.
How do you involve families?
We work alongside families to identify everyday opportunities for practicing sounds in routines like play, mealtimes, and community activities.
