Literacy Foundations
What are literacy foundations?
These are the early skills children use to understand sounds, words, stories, and print - all of which support later reading and writing. This may include phonological awareness, sound‑letter knowledge, word recognition - and may develop into reading, writing and spelling.
What does a session look like?
Sessions use books, letters, games, movement, and hands‑on activities to explore early literacy in fun, meaningful ways.
Do you work on phonological awareness?
Yes. We support skills like rhyming, blending, segmenting, and sound awareness, always in age‑appropriate, engaging contexts.
How do you involve families?
We share simple, everyday ways to explore literacy at home through routines like book‑sharing, play, and conversations.
